November 10, 2004: Hoffman Specialty has introduced two new thermodisc traps, and
obsoleted the Series 650 thermodisc trap. The two new stylesare:
Series TD6520 (replaces Series 650)
Series TD6420 (with integral strainers).
Typical applications for thermodisc traps include:
Drip traps on steam mains and supply lines
Tracer lines
Laundry and kitchen equipment
Superheated steam applications
Outdoor installations that are subject to freezing.
Features include:
Stainless steel construction:
Resists water hammer
Resists internal and external corrosion
Easy installation:
Can be piped in any orientation (horizontal preferred)
Freeze-resistant when piped in vertical orientation due to the self-draining design
Operate over wide pressure range (2 to 600 psig)
Unaffected by superheated steam
Sizes 3/8", ½", ¾" and 1" NPT and BSPT.
