November 10, 2004: Hoffman Specialty has introduced two new thermodisc traps, and obsoleted the Series 650 thermodisc trap. The two new stylesare:
  • Series TD6520 (replaces Series 650)
  • Series TD6420 (with integral strainers).

Typical applications for thermodisc traps include:
  • Drip traps on steam mains and supply lines
  • Tracer lines
  • Laundry and kitchen equipment
  • Superheated steam applications
  • Outdoor installations that are subject to freezing.

Features include:
  • Stainless steel construction:
  • Resists water hammer
  • Resists internal and external corrosion
  • Easy installation:
  • Can be piped in any orientation (horizontal preferred)
  • Freeze-resistant when piped in vertical orientation due to the self-draining design
  • Operate over wide pressure range (2 to 600 psig)
  • Unaffected by superheated steam
  • Sizes 3/8", ½", ¾" and 1" NPT and BSPT.
